Aaron Lewis ‘The Road’

Whether you’re a fan of rock, country, hip-hop, or pop, a great song is something to be enjoyed. It can be hard to define but we all know it when we hear one and Aaron Lewis’s newest solo release, “The Road,” is absolutely jampacked with them.

Going back to the music of his childhood, Aaron returns to his country roots. “The Road” is classic country with everything from twangy, cruise along in your car tunes like “Endless Summer” and “State Lines” to cry over your beer laments. It gives us a closer look into his life as he allows the songs to tell his tale. “Forever” speaks of the struggles of life on the road and “Party In Hell” is a fun romp. “The Road” is solid musically as well. Lewis has surrounded himself with a talented group of musicians with Ben Kitterman on acoustic guitar, dobro, and piano and the legendary Paul Franklin on pedal steel guitar.

The country genre seems to be a good fit for Aaron and “The Road” is proof that he is one of the best singer/songwriters around. More importantly though, for the first time in many years, he seems right at home.
