The third installment of the Monster Energy Roast threw a curve ball this year. It has been held during NAMM the last two (2) years and this year, the powers that be decided to move it to the weekend of Rock on the Range. This year’s honoree was Slipknot/Stone Sour front man Corey Taylor. Corey is a tremendous talent and real nice guy. You couldn’t asked for a better selection in my opinion.
The host for the event was former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach. Along with Sebastian, comedians and rock stars came to give Corey a good roasting he would never forget. The attendees included Brian Posehn (comedian), Craig Gass (comedian), Don Jamieson (comedian, That Metal Show), Finesse Mitchell (comedian), Jim Florentine (comedian, That Metal Show), M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan (Taylor’s Slipknot bandmate), Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed), Pearl Aday (musician), Scott Ian (Anthrax), and Jose Mangin (Sirius XM).
A portion of the proceeds from the Monster Energy Roast on the Range with Corey Taylor will benefit MusiCares, a non-profit organization founded by The Recording Academy. Here are some photos of the event, including Corey’s interesting choice of attire.
The media for the event was terrifically organized and run through Ashton-Magnuson Media. Kudos to them on making this year’s stop in Columbus top notch!
We would like to thank Kristine Ashton-Magnuson for the credentials to attend and cover the event.
