The 5th annual Rock Against MS benefit brought together members of Heart, Guns N’ Roses, Alice in Chains, Whitesnake, Prince’s New Power Generation, the Winery Dogs, Foreigner, King’s X, Sweet, Filter, Odin, TSOL, Faster Pussycat, Skid Row, Queen Nation, and more for an all star concert to bring awareness and raise money for Multiple Sclerosis.
This year’s event also paid tribute to legendary comedian and actor Richard Pryor, who suffered from MS before he passed away in 2005. His widow, Jennifer Lee Pryor, accepted the award in his honor.
Hosting duties were shared by comedians Craig Gass and Bill Burr, and Jim Florentine from That Metal Show.
The evening’s headliner, Roadcase Royale, fronted by Liv Warfield of Prince’s New Power Generation and Nancy Wilson of Heart, was a definite standout in a night of great entertainment. Their R&B rocker “Get Loud” and their version of Heart’s “Crazy on You” and “These Dreams” brought the enthusiastic audience to its feet.
At the end of the night, all the evening’s performers took the stage for a joyously raucous jam on AC/DC’s “It’s a Long Way to the Top.”
Roadcase Royale setlist:
