L.A. Guns “The Missing Peace”

In recent years, the music world has seen a real resurgence in the glam metal sound of the eighties. Many of the hair metal bands have been reunited, revamped, and are creating new music. In my opinion, L.A Guns are one of the best bands to come out of that era. The band has been around in various formats but now original L.A. Guns members Phil Lewis and Tracii Guns are back together again. This is something that fans have been waiting for a very long time and it has finally come to fruition with a brand new album appropriately titled “The Missing Peace.”

The new record marks the first time that Lewis and Guns have worked together since 2002’s “Waking The Dead” and the songwriting duo has definitely been the missing piece in the L.A. Guns puzzle. “The Missing Peace” is simply a badass rock and roll record. The band is back with all the vim and vigor of their early years, eager as if they have something to prove. The hard rocking “It’s All The Same To Me” kicks
things off in fine fashion before the blistering riff of “Speed” takes it up a notch cranking into overdrive. Tracii Guns is absolutely amazing and provides a blazing guitar solo that really lights up “A Drop of Bleach.” “Baby Gotta Fever” is a fun bluesy rocker and the killer groove of “Kill It Or Die” will have you up and out of your seat.

For Those that prefer the softer side of things, have no fear as  “Christine” is a full out eighties style ballad done brilliantly.  Throughout the album, Lewis’s vocals are outstanding. It’s as if he hasn’t aged a year belting it out like never before. They definitely  saved the best for last with the album closer “Gave It All Away.” The  song is simply fantastic, an epic number in every way with Lewis and Guns at the top of their game. This tune alone is worth the price of admission.

“The Missing Peace” is the best record L.A. Guns has delivered since their debut album and definitive proof that Lewis and Guns are back where they belong, together in rock once again!
