Kenny Loggins to Perform Today as Part of #TogetherWeEarthrise Earth Day Live Festival

LOS ANGELES (April 22, 2020) – Legendary singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins is set to perform as part of Santa Barbara’s Community Environmental Council #TogetherWeEarthrise Earth Day Live Festival celebration today, April 22. The event kicks off at 12:00pm Pacific, and will re-broadcast 7:00pm Pacific. Fans wanting to view his performance can do so at www.sbearthday.org.
“For 30 years I have said the environmental movement isn’t really a political issue, it’s a spiritual one. So far, mankind has lacked the consciousness to see that we’re all connected to the earth. What we do to her, we do to ourselves,” said Loggins.
He continued, “Besides my core band members Dave Salinas, Scott Bernard, and Rick Cowling, I’ve enlisted a dozen local teens to join me on the chorus of ‘Conviction of the Heart.’ It’s their world they’re inheriting, and I hope that seeing their faces will bring that point home more succinctly.”
The 2020 #TogetherWeRise Earth Day Live Festival – which is free to stream – honors the 50th anniversary of the creation of Earth Day, a designation inspired by Santa Barbara’s environmental activism in response to the 1969 oil spill. The date also marks the 50th anniversary of the Community Environmental, festival creator and organizer. The #TogetherWeEarthrise theme is in conjunction with the international Earth Day Network’s campaign to bring communities together during the coronavirus crisis.
