Alice Cooper (Hollywood Vampires) Interview

There is not much that Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and original shock rocker Alice Cooper hasn’t accomplished. In addition to being one of the most respected musicians on the planet, he tours about 8 or 9 months every year, hosts a weekly radio show, is a major golf enthusiast where he plays just about every day, and owns a Restaurant in his native Phoenix, AZ called “Cooperstown.” In addition to these, he also holds a charity concert every winter called “Christmas Pudding,” and now is fronting a band with Aerosmith legend Joe Perry and actor extraordinaire Johnny Depp called the Hollywood Vampires. That’s enough to keep anyone fulfilled, but for the 68-year-old Cooper, this is just another opportunity to have fun and celebrate the history of the Hollywood Vampires. In our interview, Cooper recounts the history of the Vampires and what it means to him now to pay respect to his former drinking buddies. Of course, Cooper who is 34 years sober has never felt better and it shows on stage. We not only chat how about how both Johnny Depp and Joe Perry entered the picture to join forces, but Cooper also elaborates in our one- on-one conversation on the current state of his band, Alice Cooper.

Besides some off gigs at the Roxy in Los Angeles in 2015 and an appearance at the Grammy’s this past February, the band hasn’t fully toured the United States yet. They will open their US tour at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. I ask Cooper about the decision to kick things off in Central NY and discuss his reason why.

We were more than honored that Cooper took some time out of his busy schedule to talk about the Hollywood Vampires and what the fans can expect at the show in Verona, and the entire tour. Without further ado, we bring you our conversation with the ever so charismatic Alice Cooper!

We would like to  thank Sujata Murthy from Universal Music for setting up the interview with us.  For more information on the Hollywood Vampires show at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY please go to: Hollywood Vampires Tour.  If your looking for information on anything Alice Cooper, please go to: Alice Cooper.
