Backstageaxxess.com had the pleasure of joining Buffalos Sicilian songtress, Jessie Galante, inside the welcoming warmth of her Mothers home on the day after Christmas, where she spent the holidays visiting her family. As the former front woman of the local band, Actor, Jessie was successful in establishing a loyal fan base in her hometown of Buffalo, NY. However, many were left wondering what this radiant and talented blonde has been up to since leaving the Western NY area nearly two decades ago.
After a tumultuous stint in Los Angeles, Galante continued to write and record new material, experimenting with new sounds and fresh ideas that strayed slightly from her rock roots. In addition, the influence of her husband and accomplished producer, Larry Swist, proved beneficial in encouraging her to reach for a deeper emotional outlet that would ultimately be reflected in her writing and performing. Eventually, the pair decided to explore the opportunities overseas after the grunge revolution took hold of the music scene in the States. Well received in Italy and Hungary, Jessie formed a bond with her European fans that far exceeded her expectations. However, as you will see in this interview, she is elated as she eagerly waits to satisfy her local devotees with a return to the stage on January 30, to perform songs from her fourth studio release entitled Spitfire.
