Ann Wilson (Heart) Interview

I can’t remember the last time a band has had so much to offer its fans within the span of a single year. Since June of last year, the band Heart has released a box set entitled “Strange Euphoria,” followed by an autobiography, “Kicking & Dreaming,” and finally a new studio CD endearingly titled “Fanatic.” In addition, they also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, were special guests at 2013’s Canadian Music Week, joined forces with Jason Bonham playing tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Honors and recently just announced they will be touring this summer with Bonham’s band on the Heartbreaker tour. Given these recent accomplishments, combined with decades of blood, sweat and tears in the music industry, Heart will finally be recognized for their achievements and contributions when high honors are bestowed upon them as they are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in a ceremony in Los Angeles on April 18, 2013.

In the midst of this crazy flurry of activity, vocalist Ann Wilson took time out to talk about the bands induction and her reaction to playing with her former band mates. We also talked about the Kennedy Honors and her opinion on where that ranks in the list of her all time accomplishments. We also chatted about the upcoming tour with Bonham and what the fans can expect on a nightly basis from that. Many people who have witnessed Ann perform over the last handful of years walk away in amazement at how she continues to maintain her pitch perfect vocals. I asked her how she keeps her voice in tip top shape and she divulges her secrets. We are proud to present one of the greatest singers in rock and roll, ladies and gentleman, Ann Wilson of Heart!
