You can formulate your own opinions about the band Ghost BC, which hails from Sweden. Are they doom metal? Yes. Are they satanic? Perhaps. One thing is for sure, this band led by Papa Emeritus II and the 5 nameless ghouls, put on a hell of a show.
Emeritus II wears a combination of a prosthetic face and face paint. The 5 Ghouls all have a symbol adorning their respective robes consisting of fire, water, wind, earth and ether. The ghouls remind me of the Imperial Royal Guard characters from the Empire Strikes Back except they are in black and the Imperials were in red.
I’m trying to create for you a mental picture of the band’s visual presentation because there is limited information out there on who is actually playing these “characters,” if you will. With 2 albums underneath their belt, Ghost BC delivered a very impressive hour and 15 minute set. They sing primarily in English with some Latin undertones but the melodies and hooks the band creates are as tight and crisp as one would like to hear. Papa Emeritus II was trying to get the crowd into it throughout the entire performance and for the most part, succeeded in doing so. The band consists of a drummer, keyboard player, a bassist and 2 guitarists.
This may or may not be your thing but we at BackstageAxxess are open to covering pretty much everything and all I can say is wow, wait till you get a load of Ghost BC. It isn’t anything like you have ever seen or heard before.
