What do you say when you have an opportunity to interview one half of one of the biggest selling duo’s of all time? You say when and where? That’s what. John Oates of Hall & Oates are that band and are currently on tour through the U.S. and Canada with a stop at the Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, on July 23, 2015.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer talked to Buffalo-Nightlife about array of topics including a recent release of a live Hall & Oates DVD. He also told us what songs he most enjoys playing live and his thoughts about getting out and about to enjoy the areas he tours in. Oates just signed a deal with the St. Martin press to pen his autobiography. We talked about that as well, including where he is in the writing process and when to expect a release.
In addition, we talked about a new idea for a TV show that he hopes will take flight called “Good Road to Follow.” The show takes you through the back roads of America to explore Americana, blues, folk and other styles of music. I think the concept is a great idea and they are currently are presenting pilots to networks.
As you can see, Oates’ life is full and for him to take a break to talk with us was an honor. He was a very nice and humble man and we hope you enjoy the conversation as much as we have bringing it you.
