From his days in Night Ranger, to his current duties in Whitesnake, guitarist Joel Hoekstra has been a mainstay in the world of rock and roll. When he isn’t busy recording and touring with Whitesnake, Joel might be found performing with the Trans Siberian Orchestra, taking part in the musical Rock of Ages, or appearing on countless albums for any number of artists. That type of schedule would be enough to make most people long for a vacation, but Hoekstra has found time to squeeze in a fantastic new project, Joel Hoekstra’s 13. Working with a bevy of talented musicians, including vocalists Russell Allen, Jeff Scott Soto and drummer Vinny Appice, Joel put together a fantastic set of melodic, hard rock tunes for the debut album entitled, “Dying To Live.” Even with all this going on, Joel took some time out of his jam packed schedule to talk with us here at backstageaxxess.com and fill us in on everything he has going on. Please join us for a conversation with one of rock’s great guitarists, Joel Hoekstra.
