Kenny Aronoff is one of the most accomplished drummers ever. There are not many who can boast a resume like Aronoff. He has worked with the who’s who in music. This is everyone from Bob Dylan to Melissa Etheridge to Mick Jagger to his current position as the drummer for John Fogerty. He has played on 60 Grammy nominated recordings and played on records that sold over 300 million to date. Not too shabby for a guy who started off playing classical music and then found his way into rock and roll.
Arnoff just put out an autobiography titled “Sex, Drums and Rock n’ Roll” on Backbeat Books. This book is truly a great read. We were able to talk to Aronoff at the Testa Communications booth at the 2017 NAMM trade show. Of course our talk was about the book and why now was the time to do it. We talked about his longtime gig with John Mellencamp and his gig now with John Fogerty. We also chatted about his current cover on Modern Drummer Magazine.
