Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger) Interview

If you ever spent any time “motoring” in the 1980s, then chances are you’re a fan of the hard rock band Night Ranger.  In 1984, their iconic power ballad “Sister Christian” put the band on everyone’s radar and rocketed them to the top of the charts and into the living rooms of mainstream America with videos on MTV.   With dual guitars led by Brad Gillis and lead vocals from both bassist Jack Blades and drummer Kelly Keagy, Night Ranger was a hard rock, hit making juggernaut. For many bands, that is the beginning of the end but Night Ranger has had true staying power due in part to their energetic live shows and gifted songwriting abilities.  The band has since sold over 17 million albums, played countless shows, and had their music featured in movies, television shows, video games, and even a Broadway musical.  Now, the band is celebrating their 35th anniversary and releasing a brand new studio album “Don’t Let Up.”  BackstageAxxess had the rare opportunity to chat with drummer Kelly Keagy, the man responsible for “Sister Christian” and find out everything that Night Ranger has in store for 2017 and beyond.  Please join us for a chat with not only an extraordinary drummer and vocalist but also an extremely talented songwriter, Kelly Keagy.

We would like to thank Jon Freeman of Freeman Promotions for setting up the interview with Kelly. For more information on Night Ranger including the new album “Don’t Let Up,”  please go to: Night Ranger.
