Fathom Events along with Cinema 1 and Eagle Rock Entertainment have gotten together to bring us a new and unique concert movie experience. Their “Classic Music Series” will feature a new concert movie each month in select movie theaters around the country featuring top names in rock and pop. Who better to kick things off than Aerosmith with an all new movie “Aerosmith Rocks Donnington 2014.”
The film was recorded live at Donnington Park, Leicestershire, UK in June of 2014 during their “Let Rock Rule” tour and consists of a 19 song set list. Band members Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford hosted a question and answer session for members of the media to fill us in on all the details of this event and all things Aeromsith. We at BackstageAxxess had the pleasure of participating in this fun event.
One of the questions I and many others wanted to ask was “What makes Donnington and this concert in particular so special? Tom said that Donnington is “magical” and “the band was so tight that night.” While Brad described Donnington as a “special place for bands of all types” where “the sound is awesome.” Of course we wanted to know about the possibility of new Aerosmtih music and both Tom and Brad said that Steven was still working on his solo album and they currently had no plans to get in the studio and that they were focusing on the summer tour. Since the topic of the tour came up, the setlist was brought up and Tom assured everyone that the setlist is always an ongoing topic of conversation between the members and this time out they working on including some “deep tracks.”
“Aeromsith Rocks Donnington 2014” will be in featured theaters this Thursday, February 26th as a one night only special event. Don’t miss your opportunity to check out this epic concert footage.
