Ingrid Croce Interview

On September 20, 1973 a plane carrying Jim Croce crashed in Natchitoches Louisiana, silencing one of the greatest voices in popular music history. Croce was survived by his wife and onetime singing partner Ingrid Croce, and their son A.J. Almost forty years removed from that fateful day, Ingrid Croce has released a deeply moving memoir, “I Got a Name: The Jim Croce Story.” The book is co-authored with her current husband, Jimmy Rock.

In the years since Jim Croce’s death, Ingrid has carefully protected the legacy of her late husband and become a success in her own rite, opening “Croce’s Restaurant and Jazz Bar,” and heads a successful publishing venture. In this interview Ingrid talks about the book and shares some wonderful memories of her time with her late husband. Ingrid’s easygoing style and warmth that she expresses in her writing comes through in the recent interview. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed conducting it.
