Almost 49 years ago, a fresh faced young girl was introduced to the stage at the Woodstock Music and Art Fair. Since that time, Melanie has enjoyed a quiet but very respectable career. She has sold over 80 million records, produced 13 songs that reached top 40 status and and even created a play on her love affair with her late husband Peter. BackstageAxxess recently had an interesting conversation to say the least with the singer songwriter about many things including her connections with Buffalo. We also talked about her latest release which is a recently discovered show from Central Park in 1974 that was produced by her son and touring partner Beau Jarred. Of course we couldn’t let her go without talking about the biggest festival that ever happened in Woodstock. She talks about how she was selected to play, how she actually got to the performance and what is her most fondest memory of Woodstock. It was a great chat with a true original, ladies and gentleman here is Melanie!
We would like to thank Gary Swanz from Classic Catering for setting up the interview with Melanie. For more information on purchasing tickets to her show at Aqua in Buffalo, please go to: Tickets. For more information on everything Melanie, please click here: Melanie.
