No one has had a rougher go in the last few months than the band Stone Temple Pilots. Not only did their current vocalist Chester Bennington decide to permanently part ways with STP, but their original vocalist Scott Weiland passed away. At this year’s NAMM tradeshow, bassist Robert DeLeo made an appearance on behalf of Schecter Guitar Research. After his signing, we grabbed Robert for a very personal and candid one on one interview to talk about everything that has been going on the last few months with the band. In addition to getting the lowdown from Robert, we discuss his first influences and who he enjoyed playing with the most during his musical career.
He didn’t come right out and say it but hinted to us that the band would be making an announcement in the near future. A short time later, the band went on to announce that they are holding open auditions for a new vocalist for stone Temple Pilots. We had plenty to talk about during our time with Robert and hope you enjoy listening to one of the nicest guys you will ever find in the music business. We present to you Robert DeLeo of S.T.P.
We would like to thank Michael Ciravolo from Schecter Guitar Research and Robert himself for setting up the interview. For more information on Schecter Guitars, please go to: Schecter Guitar Research . For more information on Stone Temple Pilots, please go to: Stone Temple Pilots.
