When one hears the name of Sully Erna in musical circles, it immediately evokes thoughts of the powerful and gritty vocals behind one of music’s top rock bands, Godsmack. Well, Sully is more than that. He has an amazing side project that showcases his various tastes in music, and these influences are reflected in his first solo album called “Avalon.”
Sully is currently in the midst of his first run of dates promoting said record and we at Backstageaxxess.com sat down for a bit to talk him about how the tour was being received, his future plans of recording with Godsmack, and a little bit about his hometown Boston Bruins chance at winning the Stanley Cup (editors note: interview was conducted one night before Game 7).
It’s always good to talk to Sully so let’s get to it..
We would like to thank Kyle Schlapkohl and Jodi Emond from The Collective for setting up the time with Sully and Kevin Sheehy from the Godsmack camp for his help as well.
