On December 8, 2012 the legendary former front man of the iconic rock band Mott the Hoople will be in town to help feed the citizens of Buffalo. Ian Hunter is the voice behind Mott the Hoople’s signature hit “All the Young Dudes,” and solo numbers like “Once Bitten, Twice Shy,” (later covered by Great White) and “Cleveland Rocks,” the theme song for “The Drew Carey Show.”
Hunter is headlining the 2nd Annual Feed the City Concert to Benefit the Food Bank of WNY, and will be joined onstage by a regional favorite, The Pillagers and Canadian recording artists Ruby Spirit. The show takes place at The Town Ballroom in Buffalo, and will include Chinese and Silent Auctions of some great rock & roll memorabilia.
The 73 years young Hunter recently released an album titled “When I’m President.” It’s an album that music critics have universally praised as his best work in years. The album is packed with great rock songs with catchy hooks and solid choruses.
“When I’m President” is Hunter’s 20th solo album and in this interview, Hunter talks about how he and his band recorded it in just four days. Hunter also talks about Presidential politics and his brief tour with Todd Rundgren in 1980, supporting then presidential candidate John Anderson.
We would like to thank Stephanie Cupo from The Missing Piece Group for setting up the interview with Ian. For more information on Ian Hunter, please go to: Ian Hunter.
