Shavo Odadjian (System of a Down) Interview

At the Ashdown Amplifiers booth, we were able to grab System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian during the very busiest time at NAMM. Usually, this tends to be on Saturday afternoon. Nevertheless, Shavo was gracious enough to talk with us for a bit after his signing. The scene was most appropriate where we conducted the interview as we were in front of a huge backdrop of Shavo smashing his bass at a show in Florida a few years back. Shavo talked about the photo and the show.

Shavo is very hands on and talked with fans walking by during the interview. When we were able to get his full and undivided attention, we talked about why System of a Down isn’t doing a full-fledged tour here in the United States. We also chatted about the possibility of a new System of a Down album and if so, when can fans expect it? In addition, we talked with him about his relationship with funk master George Clinton. (Clinton was also at NAMM doing various events.)

A very candid conversation and not a dull moment with Shavo. Please enjoy a rare one-on-one with the bassist of System of a Down, Shavo Odadjian!
