Art of Dying “Rise Up”

Jonny Hetherington has come a long way from playing on the streets of Vancouver.  After being discovered by Disturbed guitairst Dan Donegan,  Jonny and his band, Art of Dying, found themselves opening up for Disturbed in a true life Cinderella story.  Their new full length album “Rise Up,” continues their tale of the underdog.

With pounding riffs and rock solid songwriting, “Rise Up” is a terrific showcase for Art of Dying.  The record kicks off with the crunching riffs of Tavis Stanley on the hard driving rocker “Best Won’t Do” and the anthemic “Rise Up.” Hetherington’s vocals are spot on throughout the record.  He has an outstanding range with fantastic control on rockers like “Tear Down the Wall” and both beauty and emotion on the ballad ‘Everything.”   Producer David Bendeth  helps give the record a crisp, clean sound with the underlying grooves of bassist Cale Gontier and drummer Jeff Brown.   A standout track is “One Day at a Time” which is both extremely powerful and exquisitely passionate.

With “Rise Up,” Art of Dying has delivered a dynamic and impressive hard rock album that will undoubtedly propel them to the top.
