Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino has a unique ability of putting together fantastic musical collaborations. When he heard a demo track from former DIO guitarist Craig Goldy and vocalist Chas West, he knew he had something special and had to turn it into a full fledged new project which became Resurrection Kings. Rounding out the lineup with Goldy and West is bassist Sean McNabb and drummer extraordinaire Vinny Appice.
Their self-titled debut album is eleven tracks of classic hard rock with fresh, contemporary production from Frontiers house producer Alessandro Del Vecchio. Goldy’s hard driving riffs and outstanding melodies drive the record with pure, hard rocking vocals from Chas West. “Livin’ Out Loud” and “Don’t Have To Fight No More” are adrenaline fueled rockers with McNabb and Appice really pushing the pace. Not to be missed tracks are the soaring power ballad “Never Say Goodbye” and the down and dirty blues groove of “Path of Love.”
“Resurrection Kings” is fun and fresh, a well done rock and roll album from a group of truly talented musicians. With their different projects and busy schedules, only time will tell what the future holds for them. In the meantime, crank it up and enjoy!
