What’s new and exciting at this year’s NAMM expo you may ask? How about guitar luthier Buddy Blaze’s 25 year anniversary shredder guitar that was originally made for Vivian Campbell back in 1987? Not only was Vivian on hand to promote the guitar but a name that is synonymous in the music circles, Seymour Duncan, was also on hand as well. In fact only 25 of these are being made and Duncan signed each bridge pickup himself.
With a huge mass of people waiting to meet the Def Leppard guitarist, we met with Vinnie, Buddy and special guest Seymour Duncan in the makeshift office at their booth. Vinnie couldn’t have been more accommodating and along with Buddy, shared with us the specifics of the guitar. In addition to guitar talk, we talked to Vivian about his upcoming residency with Def Leppard at the hard Rock hotel in Las Vegas in March. Plus we were able to get details on the upcoming tour Vivian will be doing with his old Dio bandmates, and what the fans of Ronnie James Dio can expect from this project.
This was a fun interview and we hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed conducting it.
