Ever since their 1993 debut, alternative rock band Everclear has become synonymous with the 90s’ sound. Led by founder, vocalist, and guitarist Art Alexakis, the band has sold over six million albums and achieved 12 Top 40 hits. Those classic alt-rock songs include “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” and “I Will Buy You a New Life.” 2022 was a milestone year for Everclear, marking their 30th anniversary as a band and also of their eponymous debut album ‘World of Noise.’ To celebrate this momentous occasion, the band released ‘World of Noise-30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition,’ a specially remastered edition of the out-of-print classic.
If 2022 wasn’t whirlwind enough, Art and the boys were back at it this year releasing a new 17 track live album this fall “Live at The Whisky a Go Go.” The record was recorded during last year’s 30th Anniversary Tour in Art’s hometown of L.A. and marks the very first time that Everclear played the storied venue. Included in the album is the haunting single “Sing Away,” which addresses the difficult topic of bullying and teen suicide. 2024 looks to be another busy year for Art as he heads off to Australia this coming February for an intimate, acoustic tour. BackstageAxxess had the opportunity to catch up with Art and get his personal insights on the the song as well as what the future holds for Everclear.
